Designed the physical infrastructure required for Rana FM (a CF Influence Activity radio station broadcasting in the Pashto language).
Supervised the installation of all technical broadcast equipment.
Pioneered delivering the programme feed to Kandahar from Kingston, Ontario, Canada via satellite in “Real Time”.
Selected, trained and mentored a “no initial skills base” team of personality broadcasters and broadcast journalists to deliver an effective programme schedule.
Designed a programme format that made the station an attractive listening option for Kandaharis across Kandahar Province.

Launched “Oksigen
FM” an Information Operations Radio station, recognised
as the first truly multi-cultural youth radio station in post
war Bosnia and Herzegovina broadcasting 24/7/365. Trained
and managed a team of 14 local presenters in professional
western broadcast techniques and standards from scratch. Oksigen
FM made significant and demonstrable inroads in promoting
tolerance across the multi ethnic divide in Bosnia and Herzegovina
and was viewed as the premier choice of listening for young
Bosnians, with United Nations conducted audience research
proving this. Oksigen FM successfully transitioned into the
national media landscape as part of the Info Ops exit strategy.
Advised and briefed
Prime Ministers to senior NATO and EUFOR Commanders as well
as Information Operations staffs on the effective deployment
of Information Operations broadcasting assets.
Lectured on the
UK Military Information Operations Course (MIOC).
Awarded “The
Queen’s Commendation for Valuable Service” (QCVS)
in 1999 for services to broadcasting in the former Yugoslavia
and admitted as a Member of the British Empire (MBE) by Her
Majesty The Queen in 2002 for bringing divided “post
conflict communities” together.
Lectured on radio programming for courses conducted by IREX
Pro Media and for media courses held by universities in Bosnia.

Radio stations on Balkans issues for UK radio stations: BBC
Radio Berkshire, London’s LBC 97.3 and LBC 1152AM, Independent
Radio News (IRN) and Global Radio News (GRN). Irish station
Today FM and for television, on Canada’s CBC TV.

Established the
impetus and initial broadcasts to place Reading on the map
for the award of a Small Scale Broadast Licence by conducting
“Reading 107”, a trial ILR station to Reading,
Berkshire. Using a Restricted Service Licence. Responsible
for all aspects of the project including training of staff
(including volunteers from scratch), publicity and marketing
campaigns and briefing regional and local media outlets.
Consultant to the Milestone Group
Organised and Planned
“Show FM”, a mobile radio station broadcasting
to large, high profile, outdoors events across the UK using
Restricted Service Licences. Responsible for all aspects of
running a mobile radio studio, presenter administration and
FM transmission organisation for a radio service that changed
location weekly over a seven-month period.
British Forces Broadcasting Services (BFBS), London

Producer and presenter
of the BFBS World-wide sequence show “Late from London”
broadcasting 5 nights a week. Responsible for sourcing and
interviewing high profile celebrity guests.
During 1996 was
the assistant Station Manager with BFBS Falkland Islands responsible
for the day to day management of all programme elements and
the scheduling of a local television service.

breakfast shows for local radio station “Two Ten FM”
in Reading, Berkshire. Responsible for the production and
presentation of Traffic and Travel News. Responsible for all
interactive programme elements.
BFBS
Produced and managed
BFBS broadcasting from the “Royal Tournament”
in Earls Court, London to the armed forces audience via satellite
to 11 FM radio stations world-wide.
Produced the BFBS
50th anniversary outside broadcast that covered some 4,000
miles over a 42-day period and delivered daily reports back
to the UK.

Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers
(REME)
A full army career,
from apprentice vehicle mechanic to Commissioned officer in
the Media Operations Group.
During the latter
years was a volunteer broadcaster with local radio stations
with the highlight being responsible for programme creation,
production and development of the coverage of the Junior Army’s
5-week mountaineering expedition to Ecuador in 1988. Coverage
included daily “Live” reports from over 21,000ft
in the Ecuadorian Andes to Radio 210. Achieved (at that time)
the record for the highest outside broadcast without the use
of Oxygen.
In 1992 planned,
organised and managed the first garrison radio station to
broadcast in the United Kingdom. “Punch FM” broadcasting
to Arborfield Garrison, Berkshire during October 1992 using
a Restricted Service Licence
