About Me

I’m David, a former soldier and retired media consultant, storyteller, and eternal explorer. Originally from the UK, I’ve spent the past 22 years living in a picturesque village in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina, a place I now proudly call home.

My journey has been anything but conventional. At 72, I’m embracing life in the Balkans with a curiosity that keeps me inspired daily. From sipping strong coffee and savouring homemade rakija to uncovering the cultural gems of this fascinating region, I’m here to share the stories and experiences that make life here so unique.

Through my blog, youtube channel and podcast, Baby Boomer in Bosnia, I offer a window into the everyday moments that define life in this corner of the world. Whether it’s celebrating local traditions, exploring hidden destinations, or simply reflecting on life after 70, my goal is to inspire others to see the beauty in slowing down, connecting with culture, and embracing change at any age.

When I’m not writing or recording, you’ll find me walking the country lanes, hosting guests in our holiday apartment, or crafting new content for my growing online community.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you’ll join me as I share the charm, quirks, and stories of life in Bosnia.
